Stealth mode (Musings)

Even though we may crouch low, fluff our feathers, and mimic the cluck of a chicken, we remain, undeniably, a bear. In life, we often disguise ourselves to fit expectations, to avoid conflict, or to feel belonging, adopting mannerisms and masks that are not our own. But pretending to be something we’re not doesn’t change our nature; it only delays the moment when we must face it.

Like our little bear in the grass, trying to go unnoticed in a world that already sees us clearly, our efforts at camouflage can be both tender and tragic. True safety doesn’t come from blending in, it comes from being at home in our own skin.

When we stand in the truth of who we are, unapologetically, we become less afraid of how the world wants to see us.

Because the goal was never to become a chicken. The goal is to be a bear, and to know that being a bear is enough.
